Less than two weeks!

Craft fair prep is going along well. I'm trying not to stress too much. I have no crafty pictures to share today. In the mean time enjoy a picture of some spring flowers!

Craft Fair Display

Two weeks left to prepare for my craft fair! I have been working on my table, trying to use items I already own to set everything up. I'm not totally happy with it but it's looking pretty good.

Student clothes

My daughter has always loved putting outfits together. Some are much more wild than others. This one was specifically chosen as a mixture of Ruby Gloom (TV show) and looking like a student.

Teacher clothes

I got two of these pieces (consider the clothes and jewelry) at garage sales. I paid full price for two. I made the other. Can you guess which is which?

Jewelry

I got my ears pieced (again) in January. My ears are finally ready for new earrings! My daughter looked through my small but growing collection of earrings and picked these out for the first day with earrings!

I also posted pictures of yesterday's arm party (it was small and casual) as well as yesterday's necklaces. Almost everything was handmade by me.

HandmadeMN Spring Market Preview: Paper

Today's HandmadeMN Spring Market Preview is all about paper!

Shawn Leer Photography has beautiful photography!  This shop is full of beautiful color

Cindy Lindgren does arts & crafts style illustrations of nature.  She prints them on cards and even textiles!  Look at this beautiful rug.

Wayfaring Art makes journals and artists books.  She even makes tiny journal jewelry!

Vandalia Street Press sells stationary.  I love her simple and clever designs.

The Foxy Squirrel makes greeting cards, invitations, and favor boxes.  Aren't these tuxedo favor boxes cute?

Red Shoes 26 Designs creates illustrations of regional icons as well as greeting cards.  This is my favorite.

Come check out these three artists as well as approximately 45 other Minnesota artists at the HandmadeMN Spring Market on May 5th at the Balentine VFW in Minnespolis.

All images property of the artists.  None of these images is mine.

Pom Pon Flowers

Here are some cutie flowers I made for my house. I'm making more to sell at the HandmadeMN Spring Market. There will be a few things for sale at my booth that will not be listed in my Etsy shop. These flowers, the star bottles, and vintage button rings will be at the market but not in the shop.

Arm party

This is another set of bracelets I wear pretty often. From left to right:

Thrifted
Ball chain from hardware store
Thrifted belt turned into a bracelet

Turning a belt into a bracelet is easy. All you need is a belt, a clasp and jump rings, and pliers.

Craft Night

My sisters came over for some crafting. It was so fun but I'll tell you it got a little out of hand. I made some things for my shop that night. When I saw them in the light of day I decided they could not be sold. Haha!

Teacher clothes

Here are a couple shots of my outfit today. The bracelets are actually one bracelet. I made it! I'll be selling these at the HandmadeMN Spring Market. The necklace is a garage sale find. The shirt is from one of my husband's students. It is a Somalia shirt. Jacket from Marshall's.

Little bottles

I worked on these today. I'm planning to have them at the handmademn spring market. They won't be in my etsy shop since I don't want to deal with shipping glass.

These little bottles are adorable! They are about 3/4 inches tall and the star is made of vintage fabric.

Arm party

I love layering bracelets and necklaces. Here is a shot of the little arm party I wore to school yesterday (I am a teacher).

From top to bottom:

Ball chain from the hardware store
Handmade vintage fabric (made by me)
Thrifted bracelet

You can find costume jewelry at many garage sales and thrift stores. The hardware store has a lot to offer, too! Just keep your eye out and be creative!
